Dr. Tanase was born in Bucharest, Romania. She graduated from The National College of Mathematics and Physics Gheorghe Lazar Bucharest. She received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davilla” Bucharest in 1992. Dr. Tanase focused her medical education in primary care and preventive medicine with a special interest in oncology. In Romania, where she practiced medicine for 8 years, she was board certified in Familly Practice and completed her residency in Radiation Oncology at The Oncology Institute “Nicolae Trestioreanu” Bucharest.
In 2001 Dr. Tanase moved with her family to the United States. Dr. Tanase completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Metropolitan Hospital Center (New York College of Medicine) in Manhattan. Since 2004, Dr. Tanase has practiced Internal Medicine at Gwinnett Clinic.
