Walk-In & After Hours

Gwinnett Clinic welcomes walk-in visits and same-day sick visits available at all 17 of our clinics!

Walk-In visits are available at all 17 of our clinics but we suggest you phone us first for an available time slot that suits your schedule!

Since our founding in 1983, we have welcomed same-day appointments and walk-in visits at our 17 primary care clinics where we provide primary care and minor urgent care services.

Appointments receive priority, but walk-ins will always be seen assuming the physician or nurse practitioner (NP) is available. Occasionally, the schedule may be full or an office may be closed due to the physician and nurse practitioner (NP) being away.*

We always recommend calling ahead before walking in. You should confirm that the physician or NP has availability that day and that the on-duty provider can perform your desired service.

For walk-in patients with a positive COVID-19 test, we will take care of you virtually, in the parking lot, or at one of our respiratory / COVID-19 clinics. Please visit our COVID-19 page for more information.

Our specialists only see patients with appointments. But if you need to be seen the same day, just call and ask if you can be fit into the schedule!

After-hours / Weekend Visits

After-hours and weekend appointments are available at Gwinnett Clinic! Walk-in visits are also welcomed during these times:

AFTER-HOURS REMINDERS

  • Providers rotate their schedules on the weekend, so please call ahead if you would like to know which provider will be on staff for your visit.
  • Only primary cares services (preventive / wellness, sick visits, minor urgent care services**) are available on weekends.
  • While we encourage all patients to schedule appointments so that their insurance may be verified prior to the visit, we welcome walk-ins and new patients at any time. Co-pays and any other out-of-pocket costs will be collected when you arrive.
  • Hours are subject to change without notice. Please call ahead to confirm. On Saturday, the last patient will be checked in at 3:30 pm. On Sunday, the last patient will be checked in at 1:30 pm.
  • We are a primary care office that treats walk-ins and minor urgent care problems. We are not an urgent care / emergency room provider.

We always recommend calling ahead before walking in. You should confirm: the physician or nurse practitioner (NP) has availability in their schedule that day, your insurance is accepted, and the on-duty provider can perform your desired service.

AFTER-HOURS FEE

Please note that we charge a nominal fee, in addition to the standard co-pay, for these visits. This fee is to cover the additional costs we incur to provide patients the convenience of weekend appointments. Our patients consistently tell us that the benefits of consulting a well-trained physician for after-hours care, outside the hospital emergency room, far outweigh the slight additional cost.

AFTER-HOURS INSURANCE VERIFICATION

If we cannot verify your insurance coverage over the weekend, our policy is to hold your credit card, check, or cash deposit until insurance verification can be performed during normal business hours. This is necessary if you are a new patient, if your insurance has changed, or if you have not been seen at Gwinnett Clinic in several months. Once we are able to verify your insurance, we will refund your deposit (less your co-payment, if any). You always have the option of having insurance verified during normal business hours prior to a weekend appointment or making your appointment during normal business hours.
